Why Marriage Matters

My last blog posts were focused on the family specifically. My next series of posts I want to focus on marriage specifically and it’s importance. In this day and age the institution of marriage is being put down by society and made to seem like it’s old fashioned and outdated. It’s so much more than two people living in the same home and doing things together. Marriage is based on promises that two people have made to tie their lives together and live as one. Marriage is about a partnership, working together to learn, grow, and love each other, not just romantically, but true love that comes with time and effort.

“In real life, love is much more than a feeling, It is a long series of decisions to be together and give to one another, a commitment to work together to build a shard life, a day-to-day involvement that changes who we are as people. Love involves your entire being; your love fore someone is a part of you because it involves your feelings, your thoughts, and your actions.”

  1. Love and marriage definitely requires effort, and is very different from how the world paints it to be.
